Jacques Zanetti had a film career in France as an actor that ran from 1969 to 1985… He stared in a dozen
feature films (Y. Boisset’s Allons Z’enfants, A. Cayatte’s A Chacun Son Enfer, E. Scola’s La Nuit De
Varennes) etc, two TV series (Y. Allegret’s Graines d’Orties and Philippe Ducrest’s Le Corso Des Tireurs),
several TV films and several plays.
He taught acting at the Theatre des Cinquantes (Andreas Voutsinas) in Paris, from 79 to 84. He was the
manager of a French Production Film Company, Cineproduction, from 1977 to 1985. Cineproduction
produced such films as I sent a letter to my love with Simone Signoret, Le sucre with Gérard Depardieu,
and several others during that period. He moved to the United States in 1986. In the summer of 2005 he
directed his first feature film in America, Lea, that he also wrote and produced.
Mr. Zanetti just finished New York 45, a documentary about life in the city… and another feature
documentary project West Fourth, A Handball Story, a film about the world of Handball in New York.
He soon will start his new feature project, Roundtrip, with Symour Cassel, Diahnne Dea, (Diahnne
Abbott) the lead actress of Lea, etc.
